REMS Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Lamine Baghriche ("REMS", "we", "us") for your use of the REMS app. By creating an account, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use REMS

You must be 16 or older and give us a true date of birth. The app uses your age to apply ingredient safety rules, so an incorrect date can lead to unsuitable recommendations. You can have one account, and you are responsible for keeping your password safe.

2. What REMS is, and what it isn't

REMS builds and analyses skincare routines from ingredient science. It is not medical advice and does not replace a health professional. Read the Medical Disclaimer, which is part of these terms. You decide what you put on your skin, and you should follow each product's label and warnings.

Recommendations depend on what you tell us. Keep your skin profile accurate and up to date, especially pregnancy, conditions and reactions.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of what you add to REMS: photos, notes, impressions, comments and your profile. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display it only to run the app for you and, for content you choose to share, to show it to the people you share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We never use your photos to train any model.

4. Community rules

If you use community features, you agree not to: - post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or violent; - give medical advice, or present a product as a treatment or cure; - post someone else's photo or personal information without their permission; - promote products for payment without saying so, or post spam; - impersonate anyone, or try to access accounts or data that are not yours.

You can block anyone and report content or a profile from the app. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. To report abuse urgently, write to team@remsbeauty.ca.

5. Acceptable use

Don't copy, resell, scrape or reverse-engineer the app or its scoring, overload our systems, or use REMS in a way that breaks the law.

6. Products, prices and retailers

REMS does not sell products. When you open a retailer link, you buy from that retailer under its terms, and it is responsible for the product, price, delivery and returns. Prices and availability shown in REMS come from retailers and can be out of date. We may earn a commission on purchases, and this never changes our recommendations.

7. Our app

REMS, its name, logo, design, scoring and content belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes.

We may change, add or remove features. We will tell you in advance about changes that significantly affect you.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Your data → Delete my account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where reasonable, we will tell you why first.

9. Liability

REMS is provided free of charge, "as is", and we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a routine will produce a particular result. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, or for reactions or results from products you choose to use.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province or state that cannot be waived, including Québec's Consumer Protection Act and Civil Code.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live elsewhere, you also keep the protections of the laws where you live.

12. Language

These terms are available in French and English. Les présentes conditions sont disponibles en français et en anglais. If there is a difference between the versions, the French version prevails.
